Rat was a talon leader when he died at the Denial of Bitter Fist. Right before the battle, he managed to convince his commander, Bitter Fist of the Rocks, to have sex with every single warrior, man or woman, in an effort to improve morale. He succeeded and the fight was a success, but fatal for everyone. He died fighting back to back with his commander, killing over thirty men before he took a sword blow in the gut. He managed to kill two more before succumbing to his wounds.

He was married to his childhood sweetheart, but years of fighting left his marriage more in name only. Right before his last tour of duty, he found out that his wife was sleeping with his sister's husband. His sister was a prostitute and didn't seem to care about the affair when Rat brought it up.
